Birth of a Collection

While looking over dealer tables at the Heart of Ohio Postcard Club Show, I found myself in a running debate with a fellow collector regarding the advantages and disadvantages of having a very narrow specialty. We happened across “Flying at Salisbury Plain” and its companion a view of a WW1 era biplane flying over Stonehenge. We did agree these were two classic crossover cards. I conceded that while Aviation was a very general subject, Stonehenge on the other hand was no more obscure a subject as the Telescopes, Eclipses, and Observatories, which my compatriot collects. I purchased the first two cards pictured here, along with a third more general view of Stonehenge from another table. The rest is history :)
