Magicians of the Air Fly Over Stonehenge

Several of the world’s finest aerobatic pilots take a break from training for the Longleat Red Bull Air Race to perform a Stonehenge fly-over. Lead by British pilot Paul Bonhomme, the ‘Magicians of the Air’ flew in formation over Stonehenge on August 5, 2005 in a display that may someday be a fine example of early maned flight over the Salsbury Plain, in several old stonehenge and avation collections from around the turn of the century.

As a collector of Avation over Stonehenge related postcards and collectables I truely like this image because of the many viewpoints it presents to both the observed and the observer.

In this Summer 2005 photo, the visitor paths are clearly seen lined by visitors. Many not looking at the stones, but to the sky, watching this formation of brightly colored aircraft flying over. I am sure at least one photographer was looking up and thinking
Wow look at the plane flying way up there, bet he's got a great view ... and missed 'THE' perfect return shot. But I hope not .... If you have a snapshot from the ground of this event, please contact me bob@stonehengepostcards.com

I want to thank Stefan Aufschnaiter, the guy with the camera, who on that day captured this image, for shareing it with the world and for allowing me to make these Homemade postcards in tribute to Man's Flight over Stonehenge ... In addition I would like to thank Google for directing me to the Aviation Publication Fly-Low for it was their coverage of this event, which got me started on this Mutterings.

If there are any Hengers out there has a snapshot taken that on that day from below, Please contact me ..... ASAP!
